Bunty met Lavender whilst touring with a tatty Childrens’ Theatre Company after the war when things were a bit tight. For Lavender, at the end of a long and unsuccessful career, things are still a bit tight,and, as his little peccadillo looks like driving him from his beloved King’s Road, his self esteem is at rock bottom. Who better to lift him up than his redoubtable chum Bunty with her Bentley?
